What is the difference between G3 Expedition Skins and the NEW G3 Alpinist Skin?
G3’s NEW Alpinist Skins are made of a new plush material that reduces both weight and glide resistance resulting in increased efficiency while ascending; Alpinist skins have a new “one size fits all” tip attachment system and a new tail strap construction both of which reduce drag and decrease overall weight. I want to mount Targa Ascent bindings on a pair of K2 skis with inserts. Will the K2 insert screws fit?
While the K2 insert screws do fit the other models of the Targa, they are too long to use with the Ascent. To properly mount the Ascent binding on a pair of K2s with inserts, you will need a package of our Ascent K2 Insert Screws (model # 811). Our dealers often have these screws on hand, and can always order them for you as needed.
Do the TARGA & T/9 bindings come in different sizes?
No. The TARGA and T/9 available from your local G3 dealer will fit most boot sizes on the market (men's US 4.5-14). The new TARGA Roxy and Roxy T/9 feature shorter front cables and fit women's US 4.0-11.0. If for some reason you find that you need a different cable length, contact us and we will exchange your unused cables that were supplied with the binding for an alternate length.
What's the difference between the T/9 & the TARGA?
The T/9 is a lighter version of the TARGA. The two bindings perform identically, and all of their parts are interchangeable. The key difference is that the T/9 has an aerospace aluminum toe box as well as an aluminum heel cable tube. Whereas the TARGA components are all stainless steel. Also the T/9 and TARGA use different colour schemes. Please refer to our website for pictures. The TARGA weighs 1213g (42.5oz). The T/9 weighs 1020g (37.5oz).
What's the difference between the TARGA and the TARGA Roxy?
The Roxy offers the same proven performance and durability of the TARGA binding, but sports a shorter front cable for easier adjustment to smaller boot sizes (women's US 4.0-11.0). Our regular All Mountain cartridges are standard on the TARGA Roxy, as are the blue sparkles!
