G3’s Alpinist Splitboard Skin has risen to the need in creating a functional splitboard skin that features an innovative tip and tail clip for the offset skis of traditional splitboards on the market.

In an effort to showcase the wide (or should we say wild) variety of skiers and riders using G3 Climbing Skins and the places they take them, the Show Us Some Skin project was born. The premise was simple: head out into the backcountry, do something inspiring, creative, adventurous or just plain awesome with your climbing skins, take a picture, and share it. Oh, and of course if you paid homage to the 'Show Us Some Skin' namesake, bonus points were awarded.

With such an incredible participation level in this year's G3 + Backcountry Magazine Skigraphiks Contest, there was no shortage of high quality entries. But someone had to emerge as the winner, and Franz Vilsmeier did just that with his 'Frozen Watercolours' design. Now a few weeks later, his custom skis have been produced and delivered and are looking sweet!

Always eager to share new gear innovations with skiers and riders, we at G3 get pretty excited about this time of year. Late January is ski industry tradeshow season, so we've packed up the trucks full of new gear and have set up camp in Salt Lake City for Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013.

After pouring years of blood, sweat, and powder into our new and improved ski line for 2012-13, everyone at G3 is thrilled to see how well received the skis have been. We've hinted at a few awards in past blog posts, but it sure is fun to sit back and see them all in one place. This fall, three new 2012-2013 G3 skis won five separate media awards from four different ski-focused publications, Skiing, Powder, Freeskier and Backcountry magazines.
