9th Annual DOJOE Memorial Uphill/Downhill Event
Sunday February 28, noon, $30
Eldora Mountain Resort, CO

The DOJoe Memorial is dedicated to local skier, tree trimmer, artist and friend, Joe Despres. In the winter of 2001-2002 Joe died in an avalanche while skiing the backcountry near Eldora. All proceeds from this event are donated to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC). Telemark skiers, AT skiers and snowboarders are all invited to participate and are encouraged to dress up in costume for the race. To complete the course racers climb up 700 vertical feet, transition out of their skins or snowshoes at the top of the Corona lift, then ski/ride down the double black diamond run to the finish. Prizes are given for best costume, fastest female, fastest male and tag team categories. The awards ceremony will be held at Eldora Mountain Resort Lodge and will feature The Love Brothers band, beers, and raffle prizes. Save the date and get ready to climb, ski, bitch, and party!
