Used the binding/brake first

Used the binding/brake first time this weekend.
Binding worked great.
Just switched from Fritschi and I really like the overall performance.
It's lighter, toe pivot point much better, toured much better, and skied very well in very mixed conditions.
Carry a set of leashes; the brake retention device broke on one of the brakes. The brake wouldn't stay up during during mode.
Problem appears to be a bent spring that positions the brake hooking apparatus.
Dealer is on top of the problem.

It has come to our attention

It has come to our attention that some customers are finding that their early-production ONYX brakes do not consistently latch down in tour mode.

This issue recently emerged. When it did, we immediately began a rigorous testing process to determine the cause of the issue and we identified the probable cause for this failure as a bent internal brake part: the brake hook pivot shaft.

This is not a customer safety issue, as it doesn’t affect braking performance or binding release settings. However, it is a performance and durability issue, and we want to resolve it as quickly and efficiently as possible for anyone who might be experiencing an issue. The internal part in question is replaceable at any G3 authorized dealer, and we are asking consumers to visit their local dealer for the corrective part and service. In some cases, there may be a brief wait as service kits are not yet in stock at all dealers.

Not everyone will experience this issue, but if you have, or if you do so in the future, just take your ONYX brakes into your G3 dealer and they will be able to replace the affected parts for you.

Mine broke after 3 tours.

Mine broke after 3 tours. They will no longer stay locked up in tour mode. The right brake broke first, then days later the left one broke as well.

The new bindings are great and work well, I am out on them about 3 times a week with work.
My brakes lasted about 3 hours ... or the first day out. We had our issues and the brake showed me that it could work if I was nice to it and would not be a big problem. I have the fix kit and it should be a straight forward remedy.
The PROBLEM that I do have is that the brakes do not stow themselves, so as I walk up the hill I am constantly catching the skis on each other, and bushes (MT is having a bit of a snow problem this year). Any way that we could get these to stow themselves up to the sides of the binding? Sure would make moving around easier.

Like some of the reviewers above I had problems with the brakes initially. Kudos to your customer service for the way they quickly took care of it. I have 20+ days both resort & backcountry on the replacement brakes and they have been flawless in all snow conditions California can dish out. There was obviously an issue, it's good to see someone is still willing to acknowlege problems, get to the bottom of it and resolve it. Good job G3 & continued success.
