Backyard, Pre Season Turns with MEC

It's been a pretty unique lead up to ski season in G3's neck of the woods this year. With the abundance of snow last year, much of which is still sitting in the alpine, all we needed was some fresh icing on the cake to make skiing a reality again. Sure enough, the region has been hit with a bunch of decent storms lately, broken up with something you rarely see in the depths of BC's winter... sunny days! Everyone and their dog from down at Mt Baker to Rogers Pass and the Duffey Lake Road have been taking advantage of these sunny pre season powder days to get out in the alpine, stretch the rusty legs, and of course score some pow.

G3 President Oliver Steffen rallied our local sales rep and the MEC crew for one of those beauty bluebird days last week. Oliver, Richard Haziza, Craig Oliver and Jonathan Wong 4x4'd up to Brohm Ridge in Squamish, just north of G3's home base. They scored about 3000' feet of powdery vert on as clear a day as you could ask for around here, and had the wintery playground to themselves - a rare opportunity in an otherwise popular snowmobiling spot. Not a bad way to try out some new G3 gear before the season kicks in.

If this is any indication, we've got a good season ahead of us. We're sure the same is true no matter which mountain range you call home.
