A day trip up Pontiac Peak
Some days a plan really comes together. With the only good day of weather last week imminent, Steve Ogle and I hatched a plan late tuesday night. Wednesday dawned beautiful, and we headed out with our objective to skin up the south side of Pontiac Peak, and then down off the summit via the north face. It was a stellar day with blue skies and georgeous surface hoar on top of 10cms of creamy facets.
Steve focussed the video on the sometimes challenging times of trying to find the right conditions to ideally test equipment. I was looking for some firm icy stuff to use the crampons on, but had to settle with skinning in powder the whole way (much to Steve's amusement). Thanks for shooting the video Steve!!
