Customizing Your G3 Telemark Binding Setup
CABLE SETUP AND ADJUSTMENT
Ideally, the binding cable should be tensioned such that the tour throw (or heel throw) closes with a solid "snap" using only one thumb to flip the lever shut. The tension in the binding can also be checked by closing your boot in the binding and pushing gently (downward) on the middle of the cartridge with one finger. The cartridge should move about 1-2mm. If the cartridge moves more then that use the fine cable adjustment to tighten the cable; if the cartridge does not move that much then use the fine cable adjustment to loosen the cable.
CLIMBING HEEL LOCK SETUP AND ADJUSTMENT
At G3 we Value our customers' feedback. We have found that certain combinations of boot size and type, and certain snow types, can cause the ASCENT heel lift to collapse during use. We have provided this optional clip to resolve this issue.
NOTE: The clip is an optional extra, and is not required if you do not have issues with your ASCENT heel lifts collapsing. It can be added at a later date if you experience problems with heel collapse.
Installation instructions:
- Position the heel and drill the screw holes according to the TARGA ASCENT mounting instructions.
- Place the clip under the heel and insert the screws through the heel and clip. With the heel in the upright position, ensure the ridge on the clip is pushed tightly against the plastic top plate of the heel.
- Tighten down the screws.
- The clip should give the heel a positive "snap" into its upright position. The feel of the snap can be adjusted by loosening the mounting screws and sliding the clip forward or back.
