Ride Free for G3
Riders Wanted! G3 Seeks Skiers for European Athletes Team
NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, February 2007 The Canadian company G3 Genuine Guide Gear, a
specialized manufacturer of skis, telemark and backcountry safety equipment, is on the lookout for ambitious and
creative team riders. The aim is to establish a “G3 European Athletes Team” that uses “Genuine Gear for Genuine
Riders”. The team will promote and exemplify the passion and enthusiasm of alpine free riding. The “G3 European
Athletes Team” will also represent G3 in the media as well as on all events, exhibitions and contests, and act as a
potential expertise for future product development.
G3 is looking for free riders, mountain guides and big mountain riders, who like to push their limits regularly. G3 is
looking for special individual riders that strive to take backcountry freeride skiing to the next level. Top skiers that
know exactly what they want, not believing the hype but trendsetting with their style. Impressive cliff drops, big lines
and style are just as an important criterion as creative thinking and good communication skills and professionalism.
G3’s European Manager, Sepp Stenger, a free riding-pioneer himself, adds: “Of course we want masters of their
craft, cool powder pros, but there’s more to it. Riders should bring a natural ambition to push the sport, communicate
the new thinking and the development of the greatest equipment. They should also enjoy holding up the G3 flag at
Testivals, On Snow Demos and exhibitions, give Interviews and attend photo shoots.”
The application form is available on the G3 website www.genuineguidegear.com . A jury of eight neutral journalists
will undertake a pre-selection on the basis of an 8 item-questionnaire. The final team riders will be appointed after an
“El Hombre Team Challenge” day, termed after G3’s new super-fat ski “El Hombre”. G3 is looking for one freeheel
and one alpine rider in the following countries: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France Italy, and Norway. The “El
Hombre Team Challenge” is scheduled for early April 2008. The exact dates and locations, as well as an exact
announcement will be available on the G3 homepage. Closing date for applications is March 31st 2008.
