It's still winter and is prime time for ski touring in Chile

What do you do when you need winter snow for testing in August? Head south for G3's annual R&D pilgrimage to South America. This year I was lucky enough to join Oliver Steffen and G3 athlete Lorenzo Worster on a G3 product testing trip to La Parva, Chile this past week.

We were super lucky to catch two good storms during our trip with bluebird days in between.  In otherwords we couldn't have had it better for our week of skiing and ski touring in and around the ski resorts of La Parva and Valle Nevado. Oh, and 'product testing' of course. Someone has to do it.

After the first storm, we skied some great chutes off of the west face of Cerro Parva, but that was just the primer. Once the second storm had cleared, Oliver and I sucessfully summited and circumnavigated Cerro Pintor (4100m); a real highpoint of the trip, both literally and figuratively.

If the trip wasn't already exciting enough, trying out all of next year's gear left me even more stoked for winter. Our 2012 ski line up just launched online, and winter can't come soon enough.

Hasta lluego!
