Babes Night Out in Boulder- Kicks off the Season with a Bang

If you weren't able to make the Women's Snow Sports Panel and Punch ( AKA Sangria)... here are the clif notes. This past Wednesday, a crew of Babes gathered at Outdoor Divas in Boulder for a panel discussion about women's gear, trends in the industry and some juicy ski stories.  G3/Babes in the Backcountry /Scarpa (Leslie Ross), the K2 Women's Alliance (Lindsey Yaw and Heather Paul), Burton 's Lesley Bettes, She Skis- Krista Crabtree and Freeskier's Babe- Nicole were all in the house.  After some introductions we applied our  new Elemental Herbs ~ Private Babes in the Backcountry Label ~ Organic lip balm and the conversations started flowing (or was that because of the punch).

The Clif Notes:

  • Please share positive quote for the divas in the audience:   "When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step of into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly".  Barbara J Winter... There were comments regarding the old saying for women's gear ~ Shrink it and Pink it...have to get back to you with more quotes.
  • Is all women's gear created equally? Unamimous voices echoed...NO- women's gear is now driving innovation for all products. Men see the women's stuff- how easy it works- skis, functions and they don't want to be left out of the fun. i.e.- the Aplinist Elle Skins of yesteryear were coveted by the men- they begged for the ripstrip. Now its on all G3 skins. Some companies claim 30-50% of sales are coming from their women's line.
  • What does women's specific mean to you? " Fit, Fashion, Function" ...the 3 key essentials- If you feel good you look good. If you look good you feel good.  Fun, Confidence. Gear designed with a flair. Funky!
  • Most memorable Chair lift ride: What is said out Outdoor Diva's..Stays at Outdoor Divas- you'll have to join us for the next Babes Night Out for more juicy stories.
