The Joys of Gear Testing
I'm not going to lie to you, there are very few things in this world that I love more than gear. Make it new gear and I am over the top. Well apparently I have passed this vice onto my son Sage. I think he may just have been more excited to see all the new G3 skis than I was! Of course he helped me trim the skins, he loves the new trim tool but at least the glue is non-toxic...I will just leave it at that.
Of course Sage is going to have to wait a couple of years to actually partake in the real joy of skis, above and beyond the joys of taking them out of the box that is. I find that getting on a new ski is like meeting a new friend. It is fun to find out what kind of characters they are. Are they all day disco dancers or morning glory-run kings. Sometimes they have the characteristics of old friends, a predictable initiation, a snappy tail, or the loosey-goosey surfy feel. This being my first year on G3 skis, I have been excited to get to know the G3 quiver. I am really enjoying the Tonics smooth turning and floaty tip and the super light ZenOxide make the up less painful but the down just as fun. I won't spoil any surprises but I have made some other great friends this winter, REALLY great friends, and can't wait for you to meet them too!! Stay tuned.
