High and Dry

Despite high temperatures and no new snow since I can remember, a few of us headed up to Squamish to enjoy the views and (some) turns.

The Avalanche bulletin reports in the South Coast indicated that the avalanche risk was high and conditions were unstable. Having joined our group were some experienced Search and Rescue members and Avalanche forecasters, so we took this opportunity to practice rescue techniques and study the snowpack to have a better understanding of what was happening. All in all, a beautiful day to be in the backcountry.Have fun and be safe!
